James Rodriguez announced himself as one of the world’s elite players four years ago in the 2014 World Cup, and he’ll lead Colombia in a favorable 2018 World Cup group that includes Japan, Senegal and Poland in Russia. As they take on Japan tomorrow. Just in time for the World Cup, Rodriguez is set to become an actual cryptocurrency. Rodriguez is partnering with SelfSell to launch a new type of currency called the JR10 Token. Via PR Newswire: “The “JR10 Token”, which is named after him, was available for pre-purchase via the SelfSell App on 27 May, making him the first international football player on active duty to break into the blockchain world through his own cryptocurrency asset. [SelfSell founder Mr. Li Yuan] also says that through launching the cryptocurrency, the football star will be more involved in a wide range of activities conducive to his brand value promotion, including interacting with his fans, and that the currency can also be used in a variety of scenarios to benefit sponsors, media, football clubs and other relevant stakeholders, and become a new engine to grow the global football market.” It sounds like JR10 Tokens are more merchandise for James superfans than actual cryptocurrency – but when James coins start selling for $10,000 a pop in a few years, you may wish you had invested. Rodriguez isn’t the first athlete to launch his own cryptocurrency. Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and former Manchester United star Michael Owen both recently announced their own personal coins. #cryptocurrency #russia2018 #worldcup #bitcoin #crypto #JR10 #fifa #altcoin #russia #Colombia #investment #banking #ripple #ethereum #millionaire #asia #team

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ETH AND EOS CRYPTOCURRENCIES? Knut Andre, cryptocurrency investors with years of experience and a graduate student that studied business and international economics, answers the question on Quora: What’s the difference between the ETH and EOS cryptocurrencies? Chapter 1: What is a smart contract? For those who are very new to the ideas of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, it is first of all most important to understand exactly what a blockchain is. Essentially, a blockchain is a decentralized system, at the heart of which is a public ledger. A ledger is basically a way to account for the current state of the system (e.g. how much cryptocurrency is held in each account). Along with the public ledger, blockchain technology includes a consensus mechanism which dictates how the decentralized computer (i.e. the network of computers running the blockchain) updates the current state of the public ledger. As a fun piece of history, a cryptographer named Nick Szabo realized in 1994 that a decentralized ledger system could be used to execute smart contracts (also called self-executing contracts). Mr. Szabo actually coined the phrase “smart contracts” with the goal of incorporating contract law practices into the design of electronic commerce protocols operating between strangers across the internet. Smart contracts can facilitate the transfer and exchange of money or property in a transparent way, all while avoiding the services of a middleman. Smart contracts also define all of the obligations and potential penalties involved in an agreement, much like traditional contracts do, but the smart contract platform also automatically enforces all of these obligations and penalties. These smart contract platforms essentially allow the development of decentralized applications to run on the network. #crypto #cryptonews #cryptocurrency #cryptocurrencies #btc #bitcoin #bitcoins #bitcoinnews #blockchain #blockchaintechnology #love #instagram #instagood #tech #techno #technology #eos #ada #ripple #ltc #ether #ethereum #xrp #litecoin

Litecoin: A Closer Look Litecoin (or LTC as it is known) as a peer to peer cryptocurrency which is based on an open-source software project created by Charlie Lee. Lee is a former employee of Google who designed Litecoin to complement Bitcoin by solving some of the issues. Although inspired by and technically almost identical to #Bitcoin, LTC is far quicker and much cheaper. One of the primary goals for #Litecoin was to reduce block confirmation timings from 10 minutes to 2.5 minutes so that more transactions could be confirmed. This medium makes Litecoin 4x faster than Bitcoin. Every 2.5 minutes a block of Litecoin is generated, creating 25 coins. SUPPLY Litecoin has a total maximum amount of 84 million coins. Currently in circulation are ‎roughly 56 million coins which have been mined or released, leaving a further 24 million coins are still to be extracted by the mining community. The theory behind the 84 million coins was that Litecoin is four times faster than Bitcoin, and as such should have four times more circulating supply. LTC has a fixed amount of coins which means that inflation cannot affect the overall value of the currency, unlike traditional money. Like Bitcoin, LTC cannot be affected by any government or any other external influences. HUGE MARKET GROWTH On December 18th, 2017, #LTC reached its all-time high, of $360.93. Compared to the price one year before of $4.40. This medium equates to an incredible 8200% rise. Reflection of a booming #cryptocurrency marketplace, whose total market cap ballooned from $17.7bn to around $650bn in just one year, an increase of over 3,600%- second only to #Ripple. #ethereum #bitcoincash #monero #ethereum #cryptohistory #bitcoinlife #blockchain
