Chilling in summer in middle of Harbourfront Home Turfered by Sean Martindale #installation #chilling #seanmartindale

I’ve been watching Sean (@seanmartindale.art) work on these pieces/collaborations for the better part of a year, and am still blown away by his artistry, and his ability to say something important with the work he does. If you’re in Toronto, take a stroll down to @harbourfrontcentre and see the multiple pieces Sean has installed both in and around the campus as part of his artist-in-residency. It’s free (!) and on until July 29, 2018 as part of the #bravefestival #seanmartindale #torontoart #hometurfed #harbourfrontcentre

Award-winning interdisciplinary artist Sean Martindale activates Harbourfront Centre this year! Known for his contemporary interventions in public spaces, Sean is our inaugural Visual Artist-in-Residence. Enjoy his thought-provoking and often playful works in spaces around our campus. This provocative art installation had been put up in the middle of the harbourfront center and is definitely making people think about our current way of life is keeping the homeless as a permanent part of the city's landscape, rather than turning it into a thing of the past. So what do you think you can do to #change that? Because the answer is never "nothing" . . . . #seanmartindale #hometurfed #art #brave #bravefestival #harbourfront #towaterfront #harbourfrontcentre #homeless #condos #overcrowding #fullshelters #noaffordablehousing #nowheretolive #nowheretogo #nowheretosleep #artTO #torontoArt #greenspace #reuseable #recycled #materials #flowers #turf #turfed #savethehomeless #savetheplanet #fight #speakout

A week of installation. Months of conceptualization and planning. Home Turfed by #SeanMartindale. On until July 29th at @HarbourfrontCentre

Anyone who has been to Toronto recently will have noticed the building cranes for all of the new condos. "Home Turfed" by the artist Sean Martindale on the TO waterfront highlights the forgotten side of a growing city. #art #artist #toronto #thesix #photooftheday #photography #streetart #seanmartindale #home #travelphotography #travelgram #instatraveling

I’m incredibly proud to announce that Sean Martindale and I have been awarded the shared position of “Artists-in-Residence” at the City of Toronto’s Solid Waste Management Services department. Over the next year, Sean and I will conduct and present a series of interdisciplinary creative research projects, the first of which kicks off tonight at the Harbourfront Centre! “Our Desires Fail Us” is an indoor/outdoor exhibition of larger than life photographs taken within municipal waste facilities. It opens tonight and runs until September 15 indoors, and until April 2019 outdoors. Follow along at www.discardculture.com
